Changing Light

Light would become central in Jaeger’s work. A theme indicated by titles such as Changing Light. It is primarily through the use of colour that she creates these effects of light. However, it is also a question of how she uses the paper and makes it an integrated part of the work.

Lyset har alltid vært en viktig faktor i Jaegers arbeider. Hun markerer det ofte i titlene, som i serien Changing Light. Det er først og fremst gjennom fargen hun gir lys til sine bilder. Det gjelder ikke bare gjennom de fargene som settes på papiret, men i stor grad også gjennom papiret selv. Hun gjør selve papiret til en integrert del av verket.

Umbrian Sequences

The exploration of space is central to Jaeger’s practice as an artist; we see this in her drawings and paintings as well as in the way she displays and presents her work. Her artistic vision is characteristic and consistent, and yet dynamic. We see evidence of this in earlier projects such as Umbrian Sequences (2003).

While travelling through Umbria in 2002, I read Maria Bellonci’s biography on Lucrezia Borgia 1480–1519. An Italian noblewoman and a central figure of the infamous Borgia family of the Italian Renaissance. The landscapes surrounding Spoleto which I passed through were not unlike those described in this inspiring companion. ‘And those that wear brown must secret be’ Niccolò da Correggio. Correggio was a warrior, political advisor, poet and humanist and trusted confidant to Lucrezia Borgia. –Trudi Jaeger

Å utforske rom er sentralt i Jaegers praksis, manifestert i tegninger og malerier, og i presentasjonen av dem. Hun har en særegen kunstnerisk stemme, som stadig videreutvikles i nye prosjekter, men som alltid beholder sin klang. Dette viser seg så tidlig som i 2003, med serien Umbrian Sequences.

Mens jeg reiste gjennom Umbria i 2002, leste jeg Maria Belloncis biografi om Lucrezia Borgia 1480–1519. En italiensk adelskvinne og en sentral figur i den beryktede Borgia-familien fra den italienske renessansen. Landskapene rundt Spoleto som jeg reist igjennom var ikke ulikt de som er beskrevet i denne inspirerende følgesvennen. «Og de som bærer fargen brun må hemmelige være» Niccolò da Correggio. Purpurea Pendula

Purpurea Pendula is the Latin name for The Weeping Copper Beech tree.

These paintings were first shown at Galleri Langegården in 2001.

Purpurea Pendula er det latinske navnet på Det gråtende kobberbøktreet. 

Disse maleriene ble først vist på Galleri Langegården i 2001.
